Yard waste is a type of organic waste material that will decompose or “break down” naturally over time.  Yard waste includes materials from general backyard maintenance and landscaping such as leaves, tree branches, twigs and pruning waste. Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) – Compost Program

MMSB has partnered with select communities throughout the province to offer compost bins to residents at a reduced cost. In addition, MMSB provides residents and businesses with public education resources on how to compost and how to build your own backyard compost bin.
