Yard waste is a type of organic waste material that will decompose or “break down” naturally over time.  Yard waste includes materials from general backyard maintenance and landscaping such as leaves, tree branches, twigs and pruning waste. Town of Happy Valley–Goose Bay

The Town of Happy Valley–Goose Bay provides residential collection and disposal services for garbage (including mixed containers), as well as an annual spring clean up program for the collection and disposal/recycling of bulk waste, yard waste and scrap metal (dates of the program vary annually).

Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Landfill Site

The Town of Happy Valley–Goose Bay operates the Happy Valley–Goose Bay landfill site which provides waste disposal services for local residents and businesses. This site accepts garbage,  household hazardous waste (HHW), oil and paint. Bulk waste, scrap metal and yard waste are collected during the spring clean-up program.

Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) – Compost Program

MMSB has partnered with select communities throughout the province to offer compost bins to residents at a reduced cost. In addition, MMSB provides residents and businesses with public education resources on how to compost and how to build your own backyard compost bin.

Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay operates a seasonal yard waste site (May to October) that accepts yard waste, grass, trimmings and other untreated wood materials.
