Yard waste is a type of organic waste material that will decompose or “break down” naturally over time.  Yard waste includes materials from general backyard maintenance and landscaping such as leaves, tree branches, twigs and pruning waste. Some yard waste and dried leaves can be composted in a backyard compost bin. Learn more about backyard composting.

Town of Grand Falls-Windsor

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor provides a residential collection and disposal service for garbage as well as collection and recycling services for mixed containers, paper and cardboard. They also provide disposal services for bulk waste, scrap metal, and wood through an annual Spring Clean-Up.

Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Public Drop-Off

The Town of Grand Falls–Windsor operates the Grand Falls–Windsor public drop-off site which provides waste disposal services for local residents and businesses on scheduled Saturday’s throughout the year. This site accepts garbage, bulk waste, scrap metal and yard waste.

Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) – Compost Program

MMSB has partnered with select communities throughout the province to offer compost bins to residents at a reduced cost. In addition, MMSB provides residents and businesses with public education resources on how to compost and how to build your own backyard compost bin.
