Many department, hardware, grocery and convenience stores offer propane tank exchange programs, where you can exchange your empty tank for a pre-filled one.

Bay Bulls Waste Recovery Facility

Eastern Waste Management operates eight Waste Recovery Facilities in the eastern waste management region, providing residents with access to public drop-off sites for materials that cannot be disposed of through curbside collection programs. Items accepted at public drop-off sites include construction and demolition waste, scrap metal, electronics, MMSB program tires (highway, passenger, light truck and motorcycle tires), ATV tires, furniture, propane tanks and oil tanks (drained and cleaned).

Cavendish Waste Recovery Facility

Eastern Waste Management operates eight Waste Recovery Facilities in the eastern waste management region, providing residents with access to public drop-off sites for materials that cannot be disposed of through curbside collection programs. Items accepted at public drop-off sites include construction and demolition waste, scrap metal, electronics, MMSB program tires (highway, passenger, light truck and motorcycle tires), ATV tires, furniture, propane tanks and oil tanks (drained and cleaned).

Clarenville Waste Transfer Station

The Waste Transfer Station (operated by Eastern Waste Management) provides residents with access to public drop-off sites for materials that cannot be disposed of through curbside collection programs. Items accepted at public drop-off sites include construction and demolition waste, scrap metal, electronics, MMSB program tires (highway, passenger, light truck and motorcycle tires), ATV tires, furniture, propane tanks and oil tanks (drained and cleaned).

Eastern Waste Management – Collection Events

Eastern Waste Management provides disposal services and collection events for household hazardous waste (HHW), such as oil, paint, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries.

Location: Servicing communities in Eastern Newfoundland (metro municipalities are serviced by the Residential Drop-off at the Robin Hood Bay Regional Landfill).

Harbour Grace Waste Recovery Facility

The Waste Recovery Facility (operated by Eastern Waste Management) provides residents with access to public drop-off sites for materials that cannot be disposed of through curbside collection programs. Residential Drop-Off – Robin Hood Bay Regional Waste Management Facility

The Robin Hood Bay Regional Waste Management Facility provides residents in the eastern waste management region with free disposal services at the Residential Drop-Off site. Items accepted include: bulk waste, beverage containers (excludes glass), mixed containers, paper, cardboard, electronics, garbage, household hazardous waste (HHW), paint, oil, yard waste scrap metal and MMSB program tires (highway, passenger, light truck and motorcycle tires).

Island Propane Ltd. offers collection and drop-off services for all sizes of propane cylinders up to and including 420 lbs. Island Propane Ltd. ensures that all residual propane that exists in any cylinder is reclaimed, ensuring that no emissions escapes to the environment. Cylinders that cannot be refurbished are recycled and properly disposed.
