Residents and businesses in many communities throughout the province can recycle paper and cardboard through drop-off sites and collection services.

Paper and cardboard includes items such as:

  • Newspapers and flyers
  • Office paper, mixed paper and envelopes
  • Magazines and books (hard covers removed)
  • Boxboard and corrugated cardboard.

Where services are not available, paper and cardboard can be placed with regular household garbage.

Grand Bank Curbside Composting Pilot

Burin Peninsula Waste Management Corporation (BPWMC) operates a curbside composting pilot that provides collection and composting services for food waste, yard waste and paper fiber in the Town of Grand Bank.

Marystown Regional Waste Management Site

The Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board operates the Marystown landfill site which provides waste disposal services for residents and businesses in all communities south of Rushoon in the Burin Peninsula waste management region. This site accepts bulk waste, garbage, organics, scrap metal and yard waste.
