Electronic Waste

Residents and businesses can recycle end-of-life electronics and divert waste from provincial landfills through recycling programs offered by industry stewardship organizations on behalf of electronics manufacturers.

The Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) accepts and recycles a range of electronic products such as display devices, desktop printers, computers and peripherals, cellular and non-cellular telephones and audio and video systems.

The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) accepts and recycles mobile devices that connect to a cellular or paging network such as cell phones, smartphones, wireless PDAs and pagers, as well as cell phone batteries, headsets and chargers.

Cable providers (Eastlink, Rogers and Bell Aliant) accept and recycle set top boxes and personal video recorders (PVRs).
