Like all batteries, the contents of e-Bike (and other rechargeable lithium-cell) batteries are toxic and flammable and pose serious environmental and safety risks. However, they also contain valuable material resources such as cobalt, graphite, copper, nickel, and lead that can be reused in the production of various items. With this in mind, e-Bike batteries should never be thrown out with your regular garbage and should be properly disposed of at the end of their useful life.
