Electronic waste may hazardous materials that are potentially harmful to the environment if not disposed of in a safe manner. Electronic waste also contains valuable metals and components that can be safely recycled to manufacture new products.

Common electronic waste items include:

  • display devices such as tvs and monitors
  • desktop printers and scanners
  • computers and peripherals
  • home theatre in a box (HTB) systems
  • cellular and non-cellular telephones
  • audio and video systems.

Botwood Green Depot

Botwood Green Depot is part of a province-wide network of Green Depots accepting used beverage containers included in MMSB’s Beverage Container Recycling Program. This depot also accepts paint and electronics.

Gander Green Depot

Gander Green Depot, owned and operated by Scotia Recycling Limited Newfoundland, is part of a province-wide network of Green Depots accepting used beverage containers included in MMSB’s Beverage Container Recycling Program. This depot also accepts paint and electronics. Scotia Recycling will also accept limited amounts of paper and cardboard from residential customers.

Town of Grand Falls-Windsor

The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor provides a residential collection and disposal service for garbage as well as collection and recycling services for mixed containers, paper and cardboard. They also provide disposal services for bulk waste, scrap metal, wood and electronics through an annual Spring Clean-Up.
